Exotic Pets

Fins, feathers, scales or fur, family members come in all shapes, colors, sizes-and species. At Noah's Glen, we welcome them all! In addition to cats and dogs, we treat a wide variety of domestic and non-domestic critters. These include:

  • Small mammals like rabbits, rodents and ferrets
  • Birds like parrots, raptors (hawks, eagles, owls) and domestic fowl (chickens, ducks)
  • Reptiles like snakes, lizards and turtles
  • Non-human primates (monkeys)
  • Fish/Aquatic Animals (freshwater and marine)
  • Others (hermit crabs, scorpions, insects, etc.)

Why exotic pets? Because they are as varied as the people that love and care for them. Just as there are “cat people” or “dog people”, there are also “reptile people” and “bird people”. Exotic animals are unique and can make awesome companions, but they often have specialized needs and requirements in order to keep them happy and healthy. Like dogs and cats, they need proper veterinary care when they appear healthy as well as when they are sick. Unfortunately, these "non-traditional" pets often hide signs of illness until it is too late. Fortunately, just as with cats and dogs, diagnostic tools like patient history, physical examination, and (when needed) laboratory tests and x-rays can help us detect and diagnose conditions early so therapies like medications and surgery are more likely to provide a successful outcome. At Noah’s Glen we want all your pets to live and thrive as long as possible. Have an exotic friend or are thinking of getting one? Give us a call or schedule an appointment today. We can’t wait to meet you…after all, it takes all kinds of critters to fill the ark!
